Interview transcript
Right now is our New Year's. This is our New Year's. We welcome back the Thunder Beings and the four-legged that come back, the winged that come back, the medicines that come back. So all that we welcome Mother Earth and this is her time. This is her. This is when she's coming back to life again. So we welcome her. That's when she takes off her, this is when she takes off her white shawl. She takes off her white shawl and everything turns green. So this is our New Year's that we cherish and even us, our young come, our young come this time and it's really special for us. Our ceremonies, our songs, everything comes and it just brings our spirits back up and well, that's what we do, where I come from. We really teach what we can because we're really losing our culture. Just like they say, there's no more warriors left in this life of ours. No more warriors because we're not allowed to hunt. Everything's processed. Everything's just right here. It's to go to the store. See back in the day we had, they said we looked like Neanderthals because we ate raw meat and we had big doubles because we had to eat everything wild and raw. Well, nowadays everything is soft and made so we can. We don't need a tomb. We don't need a tomb at all the way we got soft. So it's really in our society. There's no more warriors. Nothing but gangs popped up now and that's not our society.
