Interview transcript
This is crazy because my mom used to say to us girls, all the boys too, but mainly us girls, she was always talking to, telling us, well when you get older you can't have a boyfriend here in Fort Thompson or Larabru or Crow Creek or the surrounding areas. So my sister would say, gee mama, I'll go up to North Dakota, and you can't go to North Dakota because I'm from North Dakota. My dad's from down here and I'm from North Dakota, so you can't have a boyfriend. My sister would really have a hard time with that, and she'd say, why just move away, and I said, even that, she lives in New Mexico.
